Words From A Bench Project

If you've been following my blog you'll know that in November 2013 Rowntrees Park started a really fantastic writing project. They brought local writing to the park by asking new writers from the area to submit their stories. These stories were then attached to QR codes that were put on benches round the park; allowing visitors to sit on a bench, scan the QR code with a phone or tablet and then sit a read a piece of poetry or prose by a new local writer. Each bench is attached to a different individual piece, so that every area of the park gives you access to a new story. It's a great and innovative idea brought alive by project manager Cath Mortimer and Editor Karen Green. (Video to the right is my launch video from November).

The most recent news is that there was a new submission task set in late December, which asked for writing with the theme of 'the dead of winter'. This week all those pieces have gone live in the park and I am really happy to say that I have been included again. My piece, Footsteps In The Snow, is available to read online as well as in the park. If you can get to the park please go and hunt for it (its half the fun) but if not you can find all the writing from many talented artists at the Rowntrees Park Wordpress site.
